- Research Proposal:
If you wish to be considered for a place in our research postgraduate programme (MPhil or PhD), you will need to submit a fully developed research proposal written in English that
- has a very clear research question (or research questions); and
- demonstrates awareness of and engagement with current research in the field of translation studies, interpreting studies or intercultural studies on the proposed topic.
Your research proposal will be given significant weight when we evaluate your application.
Length of the proposal: Single space; 3,000-3,500 words excluding references.
Referencing style: Any standard referencing style. Please apply it consistently.
- Past academic transcripts (bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees)
(An applicant who has received a bachelor’s degree with first-class honours from a recognised university or comparable institution may apply for our PhD programme directly.)
- Language proficiency test scores (if the language of instruction is not English from your past academic training):
- ibt-TOEFL (total: 120)
minimum overall score: 90 (minimum writing score: 25)
- IELTS (total: 9):
minimum overall score: 6.5 (minimum writing score: 6.5)
