Scholarships

The MA in Translation and Bilingual Communication currently offers several scholarships, as follows.

1. Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme (local student)

This scholarship, funded by the University Grants Committee of the HKSAR Government, provides HK$62,900 to up to five local full-time students entering the MATRAN Programme in a given year.

2. HKBU MATRAN Programme International Student Scholarship

This scholarship provides HK$50,000 to one international (non-local, non-Mainland) full-time student entering the MATRAN Programme in a given year. The selection of award recipients is made by departmental nomination.

3. HKBU MATRAN Entrance Scholarship (non-local student)

This scholarship currently provides HK$30,000 to one non-local full-time student entering the MATRAN Programme in a given year. The selection of award recipients is made by departmental nomination.

 

From 2021/22, the number of recipients for this scholarship will be increased to a maximum of two per year.

4. HKBU MATRAN Entrance Scholarship (local student)

This scholarship provides HK$30,000 to one local full-time student entering the MATRAN Programme in a given year. The selection of award recipients is made by departmental nomination.

 

From 2021/22, the number of recipients for this scholarship will be increased to a maximum of two per year.

5. Dr. Catherine Chan Scholarship 陳淑禎博士獎學金

The Dr. Catherine Chan Scholarship provides HK$20,000 to one local full-time postgraduate student of the M.A. in Translation and Bilingual Communication who has achieved the highest cGPA of at least 3.50 in the previous academic year. The selection of award recipients is made by departmental nomination.
